- Sterilize stainless ruler, forceps and razor blade with 70% EtOH, alcohol flame
- Cut strips (13×34 mm) with razor blade and ruler in sterile hood
- Transfer strips to sterile petris with sterile forceps
- Soak strips in 70% EtOH, make sure both sides get wet (1 hr both sides)
- Aspirate out EtOH in sterile hood
- Leave in sterile hood for 1 hour with top slightly ajar
- Flip strips, dry again for 1 hour
- Arrange 2 strips per 60 mm dish with sterile forceps
- Place under sterilizing UV light overnight in hood with blower on or sash completely closed
